Electric scooters are becoming a popular, alternative form of personal transport. With gas prices rising all the time an electric scooter is a much more economical way of traveling from point A to B.

The first electric scooters on the market were designed to meet the needs of people who had a disability that made it difficult for them to walk more than a very short distance. Over time the idea of a personal electric vehicle appealed to a larger number of people, most of whom did not have a disability.

Most electric vehicles have a number of things in common, irrespective of their style or price bracket.

One of the good things about electric scooters is that they are very quiet when in use. Because these personal vehicles are electric they are very clean to run and operate, unlike cars and motor bikes there are no gas fumes to worry about. Personal electric vehicles are reliable and efficient.

Electric vehicles are much cheaper to run than other forms of transport and cost about half of one percent of the cost of using vehicles that run on gas. Most vehicles require a good braking system for safety reasons and personal electric vehicles are no exception. The electric scooters are the most cheap and convenient mode of transport. There are many types of electric scooters manufactured all over. Some scooters have a seat and pedal activated with motor. Also there are scooters specially made for physically handicapped people.

The electric scooters are much light weight compared to motor scooter because the electric scooters have no fuel activated engine like motor scooter. The body of electric scooter is compact than that of the motor scooter. The electric scooter can run up to the maximum speed of 30kmph. The electric scooters possess all the rest of the features like of motor scooter; headlight, horn, throttle, braking through control cables etc.
