Nissan Altima Hybrid
Nissan Altima Hybrid Review
Starting in 2007 Nissan entered the field with a Hybrid model of their popular Altima model, which they have also offered in 2008 and 2009. Nissan Altima hybrid models represent a real success if judged by the design and the green purposes they save. The hybrid Altima is a great car and comes in top-of-the-line trim levels, including heated power adjustable cloth seats, automatic climate control, ABS, stability control and side & curtain airbags.
The Nissan Altima Hybrid can be compared to a Toyota in many ways. The difference is pretty small between the Toyota Camry and this Nissan Altima Hybrid, since the two models rely basically on the same hybrid-drive system. The Altima can run solely on battery power, the engine also shuts off when at idle, so there is absolutely no emissions when your stuck in a traffic jam. The Altima hybrid system is covered by warranty for 8 years or 160,000km, if you need a replacement after that, Nissan estimates the cost at around $3,900.00.
In terms of cost the Nissan Altima Hybrid is somewhat more expensive in comparison to similar cars of its size and capability on the road, although hybrid vehicles are traditionally at the higher end of the market. Baseline costs start at around $24,440 rising to as much as between $26,000 to $31,000.
Nissan has always prided itself on sporty performance and the hybrid Altima does deliver. It’s low end torque makes it feel like a V6 and the stiff platform handles the road admirably.
What is the big Nissan Altima hybrid advantage that other cars in the same category lack? Well, experts claim that it is the power of the electrical batteries that sets the model apart. Nissan Altima hybrid can provide you a 40 mile per hour speed just by using its electrical engine, consider the gasoline engine and you get the success recipe of the model.
The 2010 Nissan Altima Hybrid is the first attempt to break into the hybrid market from Nissan. With a 244.8v NiMH battery pack designed by Panasonic, the Altima is a hodge podge of automotive ingredients that range from Ford to Toyota. The exterior is nicely packaged and yet traditional in a specifically Nissan way.
The 2010 Nissan Altima Hybrid is a response from Nissan to the success of the Toyota Prius. Nissan claims that diesels are the most efficient route to take with hybrids. That’s why Nissan is debuting their hybrid line with a diesel.
